Huggs & Kisses

I attended my grandmothers funeral last week. I smile as I remember all the things we did with her. like clock work we would go visit her every Sunday I looked forward to the trip, it was the highlight of our week.

The whole family would gather together just because, those were the best times, Grandma would be in the kitchen whipping something up and of course the Aunts would all gather around to help It was a family affair.

We had the best holidays together, Christmas was always extra special, Grandma’s gift to us would always be crochet booties and that was the best gift, cause it was made with love, I know all the grand kids out there can relate. LoL

She always made this Jell-O dessert and she would add these silver candy sprinkles to it all I have to say is yum yum.

We took trips with grandma too. We had family in Washington so off we went we had a blast do you remember Aunt Nena? we had so much fun we were the California girls ha ha.

My cousin Dina told us my Grandma loved chocolate kisses, and if Dina took her sweet time unwrapping the kisses she would pinch her, we all laughed and I could totally picture her doing that.

I also have to pay homage to my Aunt Lupe she was also buried with my grandmother. My Aunt Lupe was so funny, she and I would cruise around in her green nova and dance in the living room like crazy people.

She taught me how to make pumpkin pie from scratch and a green chili dip that I love.
I will love them always and when I think about them it will bring a smile to my heart.

So today forgive someone, hug someone and tell them you love them, because we are not promised tomorrow.

With all my heart,

Yellow Wedding Bliss

I was looking at some of my pic's and I came across a wedding I assisted my BFF with so I thought I would share.

This wedding was held outside at the Fullerton Arboretum, it was a nice sunny day and it was so pretty there. The bride and groom were saying there vows under a huge tree I wish I could remember the name of that tree. The bride wanted a cross so my GF found this and she added the flowers doesn't it look beautiful.

Here's a shot of the center pieces the type's of flower used went so well with each other.

Here's another view of the center peice.

and one up close, aren't those yellow buttons so cute.

And here's a view of the table's all done up, imagine 20 of these table's it looked so beautiful.

Look how sweet the boutonniere turned out, made by yours truly.

I also made the wrist corsage's and the corsage's for the mother's.

Isn't this head board darling my GF made it into a chalk board, then the bride and groom's names were added.

take a look at the brides bouquet, I wish I had a better shot of it, but it was beautiful my GF does excellent work.
The Happy couple!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Love day! so this is what I'm doing today,

The menu will go something like this

Green Salad
Saute mushrooms
French Bread
Lasagna
Brownies

The lasagna is in the oven and  the brownie's are done and cooling.  then I took a look at the table
How boring, so I got to work looking around what can I do it has to be easy, simple and things that I already had on hand.

I thought a candlestick would be nice

Look, how cute is my mercury glass heart.

Ahhh, see my little birdy, tweet tweet how sweet and it's sitting a top of a glass heart paper weight.
My cake stand and cover for the brownies, yum yum

and this heart shaped little sign which is really something I printed up and taped on to a card I already had.

Here's a close up the grouping, I think it will do the trick I wish I had flowers, but it's still not to late to go outside and clip something, hmm I'll think about it.

There's only 3 of us, so there it is, what are you doing today? Hope you all have a great day!

Here's another chalk board, the angel was a gift form my Hubby.

I said a Valentine prayer for you and asked the Lord above
to fill your heart and bless your soul with the precious gift of love.

That's it for now stay tuned for whatever suits my fancy.

Sewing for Amarrisa

Hi there well here are the things I've been sewing up for Amarrisa

I made her a bib, burp cloth and a changing pad.  I don't  know if you can see but, the changing pad  has rubber sheeting on the back, my Jessika has been asking me to make her a changing pad so I went down to Joanne's to buy some rubber sheeting and it was way too much for me, so I was going to wait for a sale, then I was in the OC and I stopped to visit one of my favorite thrift stores there and I was rummaging thru one of the bins there and lo and behold what do you think I found, you got it rubber sheeting! at least 2 yards of it and on top of that, they had it for 50% off woo hoo a steal at 75 cents.

This was the first time I did the ruffle on the onesie, I think I could of done a better job but it was my first try the next one should come out better I hope.

Look at this, isn't it A-do-ra-ble,  Amarrisa is going to look cute in her tutu.  Hey can you see my darling mirror in the back, see the etching? I got that at one of my thrift store runs I love it! perfect for when I'm putting on the jewels.

Well that's it for now, stay tuned for more of what ever strikes my fancy.

With all my heart.

Thrift Finds

I had a few extra dollars in my pocket last week and as hard as I tried to stay away from thrifting, I just couldn't resist so it got the best of me so off I went.

Look what I got! and it all cost me 3.75 what a deal.  I think I see the makings of a chalk board and maybe I'll cover up that bucket with some black and white paper and I have big plans for that memo board, see that glass bottle? that cost me 25 cents, I have no idea why I picked that up I just liked it.  I have a thing for jars too

Here are some of the other bottles I have picked up on my thrift store runs.

That's it for now, be back soon with some stuff I sewed up for Amarrisa and stay tuned for what I'm gonna do with my thrift store finds.

With all my heart,

Ladybug Party Day!

It was a windy and cold day in the IE, but the party rolled on. Kids don't care when there having fun.
Set up was a easy with the help of my granddaughter Jaz, she's always so helpful thank you meija.

Close up of the Pom Pom's

All done, but the wind was a bother oh well we can't stop nature.  We used the plastic table covers on the main table cause of the kids and the budget, good thing to cause the wind was blowing all the drinks over and it was red punch!

This is not the best pic of the center piece but this is what I came up with, there was a big lady bug sitting on the other side you can kind of see his wings and head I know someone got a better shot if I get one I will update the post

Yum Yum looks good enough to eat.

Those cute little chalkboards are from Michael's got them for 1 dollar.

I used the chalkboard I made in my earlier post.  All that's missing is the cupcakes and the cake my Jessika made.

Don't these hearts look so cute.  I'm getting more they tasted good too, go get them at Dollor Tree.

Frog alert
Of course you know no party is complete with out the marsmallow's! what did I tell you any color
and there yummy too.

Candy buffet all done up

We had a Photo Booth and when I say booth it was a folding screen with some fabric drapped over it, but it did the trick can we say budget

There were games and goodie bags.

and no party is complete without the Pinata, isn't this one cute

Hey!  look there's the tutu I made she looked so adorable. Smack that lady bug Lexi

I was going to show you what I made for her but I forgot to take a picture of it before I wrapped it so this is the best I could do it was pajama bottom's and a top and I also made her a pillow case with the same ladybug fabric.

Here's a close up of the cake my Jessika made, it was adoable and it tasted good too

Happy Birthday Lexi!
May the Lord bless you and guide you in all that you do
may you grow to be a women of kindness and grace and may your love for the Lord consume your heart.
Always Love You
Grandma mom
