Getting ready for the party

The count down is on for Lexi's party.  Getting the list out, do we have everything? Friday's the last day to get it all together.  We have cupcakes to bake, marshmallow's to dip and pasta salad to prepare.  So this is what I've been up to in the last couple of days.

I wanted to add  something, so I decided to make the number 5 cute huh, now the back story I needed a piece of cardboard and I was walking my dog and I had seen this garage sale sign up for a couple of days and it was Monday morning so who has a garage sale on a Monday right, so I nab it right up and I beautified the neighborhood in the process. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

My daughter wanted a tutu for Lexi and we have been looking, but they were expensive and were trying to do all of this on a budget, so I said I would do it so I went to the Big W and found the tulle and got 3 yards at 97 cents a yard and I also got the a yard and 1/2 of the heavy kind so it was under 5 bucks
Here is the tutu, it should do the trick for my first try I think it came out just fine.

I had to share what it looks like around here,  I have to put anything related to operation Ladybug all in the same area or trust me I will forget something and I still have things here and there. I have a kids table were I do most of my crafting and it's piled high with stuff. I shoved it all in the basket which has the glass jar's for the candy buffet, goody bags, stuff for the centerpiece and I even have the pasta and dressing there.
Another shot of the pom poms, I made some more and I just shoved them onto my bakers rack.  ah see my little sweet rabbit, I collect tureens and I like rabbits and it was a gift from my friend Lu.

Well that's it for now I still have to finish a small detail on my gift I'm sewing up for Lexi.  So stay tuned for the party pic's.

Valentine's display

It was time to do my Valentine's display and I usally do all my seasonal display's  right on this curio cabinet.
so I started hunting for things that remind me of Amor.

Here is the blank slate, that wreath hanger is always in my display's. Love my chair I have 3 of them all over the house one is in my daughter's room the other is at my computer desk
I have 2 of these wreath's one is on the front door and this one I used here, and that welcome sign is always used too.
I had these birds in the cabinet they are so cute, both purchased at Michaels I got the little one for 1.50
Got this sign at Ross a few years back,  I love that store I always find good deals.

I still had a empty spot to fill so I was on the hunt for something, then eureka I found this.  First I put a small plant but I didn't like it. I wanted to fill it with some rag ball's but I got lazy didn't feel like cutting and wrapping, then the light bulb went on I can fill it with heart's can you tell that's what they are.

Then I hung these heart's one on the door's to the cabinet and one on the wall by the black pic's
And I added this subway art inside the cabinet, isn't this the sweetest little bird. Got it at a garage sale for 25cents it was an Avon container.

Here's the subway art, this says it all for me.
and now drum roll please.

As soon as you come in the front door to the right there it is. Next display will be Easter.

Still working on Lexi's party stuff stay tuned for the things I sewed up for her. Hope to share with you all after Saturday.

Lady bug party decorations

Well I said I was going to share the things I have been working on for Lexi's birthday party and this is what I have so far.

I'm  going to use these for the center piece, but Im not quite sure what else I'm going to use
I made her this sign. I think it looks a little vintage don't you think.

I made this to hang on the patio cause were going to be outside. and I also made a shorter one for the candy buffet.
And here is another view of it.  ha ha please ignore the big ole pic this stuff is all over the house I have to put it somewhere.

And these are hanging in my kitchen.
Where else can I put it, that's my life in 1000sqft

Well that's it for now the party is next Saturday, and I still have to finish sewing her gift.  I better get to it.
stay tuned for more party stuff and I'll show you what I sewed up for her.

The making of a chalk board

I got this tray for 25cents at a garage sale this weekend. So I decided to make it into a chalk board.

I got some tape and covered the part I didn't want painted and it wasn't easy it had this scalopped edge so it took me forever
Then I already had this chalkboard spray paint that I have been dying to use, so this was the the day
I spayed it with a couple of coats and this is what I got

It was pretty easy, I can't wait to make something else into a chalkboard.

Well that's it for now stay tuned I have been working on some of the things for the lady bug party be posting soon.

With all my heart,

Yolanda

Barbara"s Baby Shower

Well it was a little cold in the IE (Inland Empire), but the baby shower went well. My daughter and I got started at about 10am and the party was at 1pm when we got there the tables were up and the garland was hung thanks to Noel you did a great job.

I made these blessing tags by hand, I don't have a fancy machine but I think they did the trick
I used my daughter's chalk board isn't it cute. Wish I had one, hmm isn't Mothers day comming up?

These were for a game we did. I put them on this sweet little tray another score at the thrift store.

This was the sign I made for the blessing tree, ahhh how cute.

Here is the blessing tree, It's for Chirstmas ornaments, It's an after christmas sale at 75% off.
I  had to have it dosen't it look sweet.

Marshmallow's these are great you can make them any color, and there's my sweet little floral frog.

this was a bad shot I should have gotten more of the dislplay, but I love my frog.

Just in case you were wondering Yep It's a boy I wonder what gave it a way.
Close up of the right side of the table, isn't the sign cute!

and this was on the left side, I love my chalkboard.
Here's the candy buffet, gosh now that I look at it I should have put more time into it.

For the center piece we used her ultra sound pic's of the baby, the bear and the outfit are a thrift store find and the toy block was my daughter's.

The guest of honor and my Jessika.

Well we planned this all in a couple of weeks time and it was great.  Baby is due on the 14th of February can't wait to meet him. Be back soon with post from my granddaughter's birthday party.

With all my heart,

Yolanda
