Garage Sale Finds

Hello Friends,

I was out sailing and I thought I would share my finds with you.

I love to find pictures of girl friends or girls and old cars. There's one where all the girls are sitting in the trunk of a car.  So cool!

I've been on the hunt for wooden hangers lately.  This one is from New York.

I got a few of these old cheese graters, not sure what I'm doing with them yet...

I got some iron brackets and an old colander and a sweet mold with 2 lambs.

I'm  not into dolls, but I really liked this doll head. I found it in a box with a lot of other doll pieces like arms and legs and headless bodys.  Kinda of creepy,  but I bought it anyway.

Look at her now, she looks so cute I think it brings out her personality.

I've been looking for another sewing machine so I can do some heavy duty sewing.

It's a 301 Baby!!

This little lady is gonna sew her heart out for me.  She's in good condition she just needs to be cleaned up a bit and she's ready to go.  I can't wait to take her for a joy ride.

So that's my loot from last week.  I also got a couple of frames and I got some free wood to make some signs with.

Take a look at some signs I just did with some of the free wood.

Well that's it for now stay tuned for more of my life in 1000sqft.

Sewing for Lilli

Last week I was sewing up a gift for a very sweet person who I have known since she was a child. Our sweet Lilli was having her bridal shower.

Went down to Joann's and picked out some fabric.

I decided I would make an apron, a tote and some coasters.

Love this fabric, I know it's hard to tell but the solid is the color lavender.

I used some scrap fabric from my stash to make the coasters.

While I was sewing, I was thinking back at what a sweet girl she was and  what a beautiful women she has become.

How do you like the tote? The inside was lavender, so sorry I forgot to get a shot of that.

I put a sweet ruffle on the bottom and a band above that.  It looks like a dress soo cute!

I really don't know how she's decorating, but I thought she would like this burlap pillow with their initials on it.

I was there the night before and helped set up for the shower so we took a picture together.  In a couple of weeks she will be walking down the aisle to be married. I can't wait to be a part of her big day!

Stay tuned for more of my life in 1000 sqft.

Falling into Autumn

Hello Friends,
It's finally cooling down here in my neck of the woods.  It was in the high 80's today I wish Fall would hurry up and get here!  With that said I'm falling into Autumn slowly but surely.

I gathered all my junk I mean stuff and started tweaking.  Like I said in my previous post here I want to go more neutral this year.

From this

To this

Painted my pumpkins from orange to white.  I think I like them better this way.

Decoupaged some dollar tree pumpkins.

Painted this one white and added our initial.

Gathered up some of my clocks.

Thought I could use my candle stick and my pitcher. Most of the things here are from garage sales.

I wanted to use my nozzle collection so I put them in the little atrium I got at a garage sale recently.

I sprinkled a little fall here and there.  Aww I think my pumpkins are adorable.

I hung a wreath on my chalkboard.  I don't think I ever mentioned the chalkboard was a garage sale find.

Then I started messing with the curio cabinet.  Hated it...

I got rid of the wreath hanger but I still wasn't liking it. Something was missing.

I added some burlap to the back of the frame, yeah that's it, the background was to  white and you couldn't see the frame.

Lookie what I found at a recent garage sale.  I had to give up the one that I had when we moved, and  I wasn't going to buy any furniture because there really isn't any room here, but I just couldn't pass it up. So I squeezed it in.  This baby is getting a paint job soon, so stay tuned for that.

After doing the hokey pokey a couple of times, It's all done up and ready for Fall.

Well that's it for now.  Thanks for coming by, and stay tuned for more of my life in 1000sqft.
