Amarissia is Turning One

Hello Friends,
Ive been busy getting ready for Baby Amarissa's 1st Birthday. So take a look and see what I've been up to.

 Her theme is mod monkey,
but we're actually using the colors pink and green more then the monkey.
take a look at the number one that I made.

Pom poms, pom poms and more pom poms.  These are so easy to make and they add a hugh punch of color.

This is what she's wearing. I think she's going to look ado-ra-ble.

Its going to be a small family affair, but I think we should celebrate big after all you only turn 1 once in your life.  The party is Saturday so be back soon to share.

Sewing for Lilli

Last week I was sewing up a gift for a very sweet person who I have known since she was a child. Our sweet Lilli was having her bridal shower.

Went down to Joann's and picked out some fabric.

I decided I would make an apron, a tote and some coasters.

Love this fabric, I know it's hard to tell but the solid is the color lavender.

I used some scrap fabric from my stash to make the coasters.

While I was sewing, I was thinking back at what a sweet girl she was and  what a beautiful women she has become.

How do you like the tote? The inside was lavender, so sorry I forgot to get a shot of that.

I put a sweet ruffle on the bottom and a band above that.  It looks like a dress soo cute!

I really don't know how she's decorating, but I thought she would like this burlap pillow with their initials on it.

I was there the night before and helped set up for the shower so we took a picture together.  In a couple of weeks she will be walking down the aisle to be married. I can't wait to be a part of her big day!

Sewing for Jazmyn

I  thought I'd share what I've been up to lately.  I've been sewing for my granddaughter  who turned 11 on the 25th.

Her favorite color is turquoise so I went out and got this, I thought it was colorful.

I decided to make her a skirt.  It only uses 3 pattern pieces so it was pretty simple.  That's the kind of sewing I like.

I thought I would embellish this tee shirt I got at the big W.

I made 3 of these rolled flowers and added a little bling.

I picked up a bangle bracelet at a garage sale.  I covered that with the same fabric. I also made her a cute bag but I forgot to get a pic of that.

Here's the end result her skirt was so easy to make.

To my sweet Jazz,
May the Lord bless you and guide you in all that you do.  May he pour grace down upon you, as you become a girl for God.
 Love You,
G-mom

Garage Sale Finds

Hi Friends,

I went sailing but it was overcast here on Thursday and Friday so not to many sales, but I did get a few things I wanted to share with you.

Isn't this cute! darling bird house.

Look at this door so  a-dor-able.

I'll paint this and use it to cart around stuff.

I got a bunch of these!  I'll use them when I get a proper garden the whole lot cost $2.00.

They had a community garage sale a while ago and I got this cute wheelbarrow, I asked how much?  I thought for sure he would say 20 bucks and the price was $4.00 SOLD!

I got about 5 yards of this fabric for 2 bucks so I started sewing and so far this is what I've done with it.

I made this for my daughter.

This I made for a sweet baby girl named Ally.
I still have quite a bit left so I think I'll sew up a top for me.

I was on a roll, so I also made a bag for a sweet little girl who was turning 8.

Turned out cute, but it needed something so...

I added a flower made from left over scraps, love the scrap pile.

Baby Bird Update

Momma bird is keeping a good watch so I haven't been able to get my camera up close but I will keep trying.

Well that's it for now stay tuned for more of my life in 1000sqft.

Sewing for Cara

I've been sewing for my niece who is having a baby girl.  I like to sew but lately I just haven't been in the mood but since her baby is due soon I thought I better get to it.

I took a pink onesie and some scraps I had and cut out a crown.

for the princess to be.

I decided to make her a bib to go with the pink onesie

Don't you just love scraps.

I thought I would make her a tutu.

I cut the onsie in half so I could sew on the skirt.

I attached the bottom half of the onsie to the top.

She is going to look adorable in her tutu.

So while I was at the sewing machine I decided to cover this pillow in burlap.

I thought I would just make an envelope for it just in case I wanted to change it later.

I wanted to put something on it but I can't decide what, so I'm still thinking about it, maybe an initial, or a crown not sure yet, stay tuned for that.  Have you ever worked with burlap? what a mess I'm still finding fibers in the strangest of places.

Monkey Business

Just wanted to share a story with you all.  My grandaughter's were here today and they never fail to leave little reminders of thier visit's.

I have this sitting on top of a book case, it's were we put our spare change.

This is what I found later that night.

Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more of my life in 1000sqft.

Sewing for Amarrisa

Hi there well here are the things I've been sewing up for Amarrisa

I made her a bib, burp cloth and a changing pad.  I don't  know if you can see but, the changing pad  has rubber sheeting on the back, my Jessika has been asking me to make her a changing pad so I went down to Joanne's to buy some rubber sheeting and it was way too much for me, so I was going to wait for a sale, then I was in the OC and I stopped to visit one of my favorite thrift stores there and I was rummaging thru one of the bins there and lo and behold what do you think I found, you got it rubber sheeting! at least 2 yards of it and on top of that, they had it for 50% off woo hoo a steal at 75 cents.

This was the first time I did the ruffle on the onesie, I think I could of done a better job but it was my first try the next one should come out better I hope.

Look at this, isn't it A-do-ra-ble,  Amarrisa is going to look cute in her tutu.  Hey can you see my darling mirror in the back, see the etching? I got that at one of my thrift store runs I love it! perfect for when I'm putting on the jewels.

Well that's it for now, stay tuned for more of what ever strikes my fancy.

With all my heart.
