The Twins Are Here!

I'm so excited the twins are here!
I went out to water the plants and I decided to check out the nest and lo and behold I got babies!

At first I couldn't get a good shot of the eggs,  Helloooo it didn't dawn on me that the eggs had hatched.

So sweet.

I looks like two to me what do you think?  it's hard to tell but I'll keep you posted.  I showed this to my daughter last night and she flipped she's just as excited as I'm.  I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

How did you like that segue lol, yep we bought an apple tree so let's see how this puppy does.

Good thing I went out to water this morning, poor little guy needed watering, oh! please don't die. I don't have a green thumb (more like a white one ha get it, white one because I paint every thing white OK, well, I thought it was funny.)

I've had this grapevine for about 4 years now and last year it got so big and green, then It started to turn ugly and I spotted these worm like things, and it just died back.  I was going to get rid of it but I started to water it and now look at it it's coming back, but it has never given me any grapes. Then...

Look what I found, looks like grapes to me, yippee!

My strawberry plant is coming along.

Ahh, my climbing rose is starting to bloom, I love to see the little buds.

Then it just explodes into this!

Thanks for stopping by.  Tomorrow is Thursdaaay, and you know what that means in my neck of the woods- garage sailing time :).

Hello Friends,  I went outside the other day and I found something.

Can you see it?

Ahhh, this little birdy has it going on it's burlap love for her.

It's twins!

Rose update, It's so purdy!

I'm hoping one day that the bird's might make this there home.

Or how about this one, so sweet.

I spy with my little eye, something white.

Sorry I've been gone, but someone and I won't name any names (daughter) installed google chrome and caused havoc it blocked blogger on my computer and luckily after days of trouble shooting we got to the bottom of it. So glad to be back!
Happy Sunday to you all.

A Rose By Any Other Name

It's here!

Just a reminder of how it began.

Then the color peeked through.

I thought this was it, but a couple of days later....

Que choir of angles, ahhhh

I got this little rose tree when I moved here and so far so good.

Were all a buzz, cause the bee's are doing there thing on the orange trees.

The pineapple mint is thriving, I put some of this in my ice tea.

My little gazing ball has been with me since the beginning.

And the story continues.....

As always, stay tuned for more of my life in 1000sqft.

With all my heart.

Thrift Store Finds

I finally got around to doing something with my thrift store finds.  I know it took forever, it takes me awhile to get motivated so let's get on with it.

Just a reminder of what I got.

Lookie what I did! I re-covered that blue memo board in this black and white fabric that I got at the thrift store there was 3 yards and I got it for 2.50 and I used some vintage buttons that I got at an Estate sale I always get buttons cause you can use them in so many ways.

Remember that big jar?  I got some chalkboard sheets from Michael's, cut my shape
out and stuck it on. Then I made a hole on the top and now I have a place for my twine.  I don't know about you, but I'm just loving twine and I've been finding it at estate sales like crazy.  The other day I was at a garage sale and I became a stalker, you know what I mean, there was a huge spool of twine and this lady beat me to it but I heard her say she wasn't sure about it, so yep I stalked her (don't judge me) but she bought it,  next time I have to be faster on the draw.

At that same sale I found this other big jar.  I cant wait to fill it with something.

It's a good feeling when you finish a project.

I was on a roll so I also stamped these small burlap squares I got at Michael's.

I also wanted to share my other thrift store finds with you all. Nice frame's don't you think.  I don't know what I'll use them for but there going in my stash.

I like this, I'm sure it's a cover for a butter dish but lets call it a cloche.

I really like this hmm, how did he get there.

Update on my Rose its almost there!

I decided to put my frog's under the little cloche, what do you think?

Well I still have to do something with the green bucket and the tray so stay tuned.  Tomorrow is Friday and there's always lots of garage sales so that's my plan be back soon.

With all my heart,

Yolanda

Spring is in the air

Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods! Went out to my back yard which is nothing but dirt except for the patio where I tried to make it a little more like my old back yard, but it's really hard to make it feel like my own when I'm just renting, I wanted to put grass in but I just didn't want to put the money into it, yada yada yada to much information let me just say I'm renting enough said.  Now on with the show.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

I'm getting visitors

This is my attempt at growing tomato's. Can't wait to show you the progress, maybe I should plant some more just in case these don't make it.

Here is my strawberry's

My squash, so far so good.   I said a little pray over all the things I planted,
I believe! I believe!

A little English thyme and some basil. Look at my rabbit he's cute.

Some ivy, did I mention I like bird house's there scattered here and there.

I really like geranium's and I like pink.

Rabbit under glass.

Don't you just love my tea cart, I got it on one of my sailing outings I know its missing the bottom glass, but that's OK when I'm ready to move to my next place I'll fix it but for now it works.

I love Easter Lilly's.

Future orange's they smell so good.

Can you see my bird house stake.  Look at my angel wing in the pot,  I think it looks so sweet.  Ugh! I'm totally aware of the ugly dirt in the back ground just please ignore it.

Some body's sunbathing.

Another lazy rabbit.

I love this bench I got it at the Rose Bowl flea market.

First sign of my Alyssum.

I love the way this ivy is trying to climb up this stake.

I really like ivy it's a great filler, I have ivy planted with my Rose tree's.

Future Rose.

Yes my friends it is yet another little bird house, but isn't it adorable.

On a sad note this little guy didn't make it.

I can't remember what these are, but when they bloom I'll let you know.

Friend's I wasn't alone, my shadow was there with me also known as Teddy.

That's it for now I'm planning on going thrifting next week so stay tuned for my next finds.

With all my heart,

Yolanda
